You'll do more, learn more, and have the ability to make a profound impact on our business.The Commercial Operations Manager will help RMB become the leader in biopharma quality control automation by driving process improvement, supporting operational excellence, and delivering analytical insights across the entire commercial team within RMB (comprising sales, customer support, marketing and strategy). You will be an embedded finance business partner helping drive commercial planning, decision making and operational improvement across our revenue-generating activities. In addition, you will deliver financial insight, and support the revenue modeling, budgeting and forecasting process for the commercial team, as we develop and execute on various commercial strategies to drive our continued growth. In this role, you will interact with RMB's leadership team, including the CFO, SVP of Strategy, VP of Sales, VP of Customer Support and others to address important commercial operations, planning and analytical questions facing our company, with a great opportunity to learn all facets of the commercial side of the business, and a platform to grow into more senior roles. In this role, you will report to the Commercial Chief of Staff as part of a high-visibility team with a cross-functional strategic remit. You will also have dotted-line responsibility to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis to ensure you maintain a strong linkage back to your partners in the Corporate Finance function.ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Commercial Analytics & Process Improvement:

  • Analyze commercial processes to help the commercial team accelerate revenue growth, optimize their functions, increase efficiency, and continuously improve performance.
  • Lead high-priority commercial initiatives such as revenue process optimization and pricing / margin improvement
  • Guide data-driven decision processes throughout the commercial organization to drive our rhythm of businessPlanning, Budgeting & Execution:
    • Coordinate across the commercial team and with Corporate Finance to develop and submit long-range plans, annual budgets, and quarterly/annual forecasts. Help prioritize goals and activities and support the development of execution plans against them.
    • Support the planning / rollout of key Strategic Initiatives within the business. Engages in regular dialogue with operational peers to understand potential issues or conflicting priorities.
    • Maintain financial models and reports to support financial planning and analysis of the commercial team, including expenses, headcount, capital expenditures, and other related areas as needed.Metrics & Analysis:
      • Identify and select reporting systems and develop and implement regular reporting of key performance metrics such as forecasting, funnel analysis, and addressable market segmentation.
      • Research and provide succinct forecast, budget and variance analysis to commercial team leadership and Corporate Finance on a regular, recurring basis.
      • Perform recurring and ad-hoc financial analyses as needed to assist in business decision-making.
      • Develop and distribute appropriate weekly, monthly, quarterly and/or annual reports as needed.
      • Assist with development and creation of senior leadership presentations as needed.EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
        • Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business from a leading institution.
        • 5+ years of experience in finance, consulting, investment banking, operations, and / or accounting roles. Healthcare / biopharma industry and/or experience with smaller, hyper-growth companies is preferred (experience working in a public company environment is a plus).
        • Strong familiarity and fluency with financial statements and working knowledge / commitment to learn key US GAAP concepts.
        • Advanced Excel skills with a deep understanding of model architecture, formula efficiency, pivot tables, and macros.
        • Strong PowerPoint skills and demonstrated ability to convert concepts and ideas into impactful, easy-to-understand slides strongly preferred.
        • Prior experience with business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, etc) a plus; or a commitment to learn and apply these tools/skills on the job.
        • Highest standards of accuracy and precision.
        • Ambitious, with demonstrated entrepreneurial / problem-solving ethic - resourceful, solutions-oriented, and inclined to attack problems with a can-do attitude.
        • Excellent critical thinking skills - highly skilled at thinking through complex problems and developing creative analytical approaches that deliver novel insights.
        • Strong teamwork skills - ability to work in a cross-functional, non-hierarchical position and interact with and influence individuals at all organization levels.
        • Strong verbal and written communication skills - ability to convey messages concisely in both written and presentation formats, to internal and external audiences, and distill complexity into articulate narratives, especially for non-quantitative peers.
