X and YouTube. Job Description The Project Coordinator I is a
full-time position within AbbVies Discovery External Sourcing
Coordination (DESC) team, part of the Strategic, Portfolio &
Operations (SPO) department of the Discovery Research organization
(early R&D). The DES teams mission is to streamline and
optimize scientific business processes by managing external
sourcing needs and ensuring strict compliance, thereby reducing
operational burdens on Discovery scientists. The Project
Coordinator I provides comprehensive operational and logistical
support for external sourcing activities. Operating under limited
supervision, this role upholds AbbVies compliance standards while
driving efficiency across sourcing operations. Key responsibilities
include coordinating project timelines and workflows, managing
relationships with suppliers and collaborators, tracking key
deliverables, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring
clear, consistent communication between stakeholders in close
collaboration with designated Discovery External Sourcing Managers
(DESMs). Key Responsibilities: Support assigned DESMs with external
supplier account management, invoice reconciliation, CRO request
allocation, data transfer, project and logistic coordination and
documentation with minimal supervision. Enter, track, and manage
sourcing project data for Genetic Medicine, Quantitative Medicine &
Genomics, and AI/ML-related requests with precision and agility to
support stakeholders research needs across multiple time zones.
Monitor compliance with AbbVie guidelines and identify
opportunities for process improvements across sourcing activities.
Manage confidential information and ensure timely document sharing,
archiving, and report preparation. Coordinate presentation
materials and interim reports. Build and maintain collaborators and
supplier relationships to resolve issues, ensure timelines and
deliverables are met, and support project communications. Develop
and execute local work plans in line with project management best
practices. Qualifications BS with 4 years of experience, MS with 0
years of experience, or 810 years equivalent work experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to
manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities. A strong
scientific background is required; candidates with experience in
genomics, genetics, artificial intelligence/machine learning, or
early-stage drug discovery are strongly preferred. Proficiency in
MS Office, MS Project, SharePoint, PowerBI, and Smartsheet.
Self-directed team player with strong collaboration skills and
ability to engage with stakeholders and suppliers. Process/Project
Management training, experience, or certification preferred. If
