A leading general contractor with over 100 years in business is
seeking a Director of Preconstruction to join the team and make an
immediate impact. Client Details Our client is a 4th-generation,
family-owned business has been in operation for 100 years. It
operates as a multi-division company with over 600 employees and
generates between $150M-$200M in annual revenue. Its divisions span
across construction, real estate development, equipment leasing,
and utility management. The firm serves clients across
Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Connecticut, with a market focus
on energy, water, wastewater, commercial (offices and labs),
industrial, and institutional sectors. Their business is guided by
four core principles: Safety, People, Profitability, and New
Business Generation. They are actively seeking a Director of
Preconstruction that can make an immediate impact. Description The
Director of Preconstruction - Multifaceted General Contractor will
be responsible for: Managing the estimating department in its
function of developing hard bids, construction management
estimates, design-build proposals, and other types of project
estimates Preparing the weekly bid calendar and ensuring timely
completion of estimates Managing and coordinating the department
workload Participating in the determination of which projects the
company will pursue Evaluating the performance of department
personnel and developing strategies to advance the capabilities of
the estimating staff through assignments and training Identifying
and monitoring career paths for estimating staff Hiring and
evaluating estimating staff and training them to ensure their skill
sets support corporate goals Monitoring the success and accuracy of
the department's estimates Overseeing the management of the
estimating database and historical building costs Reviewing the
subcontractor and supplier database Managing the project buyout
following a successful bid Profile The Director of Preconstruction
- Multifaceted General Contractor should have: B.S degree in
engineering or construction management 10 years experience with a
commercial or industrial general contractor Detail oriented with a
demonstrated ability to organize and manage detailed analysis
Experience with estimating, scheduling and/or project management
technology Have a high degree of competency with estimating
software Excellent written and verbal communication skills The
ability to work in a high-pressure environment with tight deadlines
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to work in
a team environment Job Offer The Director of Preconstruction -
Multifaceted General Contractor will receive: Competitive base
compensation up to $210k (based on previous experience) Health,
