Description POSITION SUMMARY: The Mechanical HVAC Foreman will
participate and oversee the installation or maintenance and
inspection of HVAC, Utility and Process piping systems including
Sub-Contractors. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: /n - Regular attendance
at assigned location; may include A/Z office or other project site;
/n - Act as a team leader in the execution of mechanical work
safely and with the objective of constructing a best in class
product; /n - Oversee and audit site safety and quality control
programs; /n - Ensure all site safety work permits as defined
within the Project Specific Safety Program are acknowledged and
adhered to; /n - Coordinate interface between project management
and site operation participants in the execution of construction
services; /n - Oversee and coordinate any Sub-Contractors work that
may be working under the Mechanical Division, ie: Sheet Metal,
Building Controls, Insulator, etc. /n - Confirm the design intent
with architectural, engineering, and consultants in accordance with
Standard Project Control requirements; /n - Coordinate field trade
activities in accordance with the project schedule and help with
developing the three week look ahead coordination schedules with
all appropriate Project Team Participants; /n - Attend all trade
contractor weekly coordination meetings with Project Manager and/or
Project Engineer; /n - Coordinate equipment and specialty material
deliveries and staging requirements; /n - Assist with coordination
and scheduled shut-downs as required to support any associated
on-site operational requirements; /n - Support constructability and
value management analysis with best industry practices; /n - Assess
trade contractor earned value status with Project Management Team
for monthly requisitions; /n - Maintain project as-built
documentation and site coordination drawings; /n - Establish work
completion and punch lists in accordance with established Quality
Control and Quality Assurance Programs; /n - Ensure field
installation compliance with all technical specifications, approved
shop drawings and submittals; /n - Support interface with Client
Representatives on pro-active customer centric basis; /n - Complete
associated Superintendent project control requirements in
accordance to Corporate Standard Operating Practices and
Procedures; /n - Support field investigation analysis for potential
claim / issue resolution practices with Project Team, as required;
/n - Support field close-out, commissioning, and validation
requirements as defined with the Project Team; /n - Insure the
necessary equipment and materials are always available to support
the field team so as to maximize productivity; /n - Supervise and
participate in the installations of Heating Hot Water, Chilled
Water, Steam, Condensate, Compressed Air, Process Fluids, Chemical,
Fuel Oil, Gasses, and other related systems; /n - Works with
materials that include carbon steel, stainless steel, plastics,
fiberglass, copper, (brazed, soft soldered and pro-press); /n -
Perform layout and develop isometric drawings for piping systems;
/n - Understand the constructability requirements for installing
pre-fabricated piping systems including location of field fit
welds, random spool lengths, installation logic, etc.; /n -
Measure, cut, thread or bend pipe to required angle using hand or
power tools or machines such as pipe cutters, pipe-threading
machines or pipe-bending machines; /n - Locate and mark the
position of pipe installations, connections, passage holes or
fixtures in structures using measuring instruments such as rulers
or levels; /n - Test pipes or fixtures for leaks using various
methods; /n - Assemble pipe sections, tubing or fittings using
couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent,
caulking, soldering or brazing equipment; /n - Perform proper
fit-up of pipe, fittings and flanges for open root butt welding and
socket welding; /n - Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves,
appliances or fixtures using hand or power tools; /n - Detect
faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify
supervisors; /n - Direct helpers or apprentices in appropriate
tasks; /n - Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings,
plans or specifications to determine work details or procedures; /n
- Must maintain strict adherence to safety rules and quality; /n -
Insure proper site housekeeping is always maintained; /n - Interact
with co-workers in an attentive courteous manner; /n - Additional
duties as directed by management. /n /n Qualifications SKILLS &
EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS: /n - Ability to work independently and
manage a team of pipe fitters, plumbers, welders and apprentices;
/n - Experience: 10 years of Field Experience; /n - Knowledge of
materials, methods and tools involved in industrial construction;
/n - Attention to detail and quality; /n - Be highly focused on
customer satisfaction expectations; /n - Good documentation and
record keeping; /n - Preparation of miscellaneous paperwork
including time sheets, daily reports and material requests; /n -
Competency in Permit Required Confined Space; /n - Understanding
and development of daily Job Hazard Analysis (JHA); /n -
Appropriate state certification or license; /n - OSHA 10
