world.The Airframes, Structures & Radars, and Materials (ASM) leads
in the mechanical hardware design, development, and production of
weapons systems. ASM uses state-of-the-art tools, processes, and
technology, with capabilities encompassing a broad range of
technical disciplines, including product engineering,
manufacturing, technical services, materials engineering, analysis
and test, rapid hardware development/builds and configuration and
data management documentation.The Air Defense Ground Equipment
(ADGE) Department leads mechanical design, development, and
integration of platform systems. This includes shelter systems,
hardware integration, cable & interconnections, as well as facility
development, and site integration. The department is comprised of
individuals with technical expertise and experience in hardware
design, integration, and production support. -The ADGE department
is looking for a full-time Principal Mechanical Engineer to work
Prime Movers and Support Equipment.What You Will Do: -
- Report to Lead Mechanical Engineer and serve as backup as
such.
- Provide responses to supplier questions related -to general
design expectations and -interpretation of the relevant
specifications---.
- Provide guidance on Raytheon expectations for design -rigor,
level of TDP & MDP documentation required, typical -analysis
approach, and other similar topics.
- Ensure the suppliers are successful in -completing major design
and production reviews on schedule---.
- Support supplier led PDR, CDR, including ensuring design is
manufacturable for multiple new MEIs
- Connect suppliers with Raytheon subject matter experts as
-required.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, non-technical
disciplines, and suppliers to develop robust design solutions and
resolve technical challenges.
- Work with limited supervision and meet technical, schedule, and
monetary commitments.
- Participate in design peer reviews and conduct trade studies to
promote sound technical decisions.
- Apply knowledge and experience in technical problem solving and
hardware development in an engaged team environment.Qualifications
You Must Have:
- Typically requires Bachelor's degree and 8 years of prior
relevant experience OR In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant
experience is required
- 8 years of professional engineering experience.
- 3 years of experience with hardware design, or integration,
and/or designing and developing cables, connectors, and/or
harnesses (preferably for use in Military environments).
- Experience with International and/or Domestic Supplier
support.
- Experience with any materials, or load bearing structures, or
shock/vibration/load analysis.Qualifications We Value:
- Experience with antennae military mobile tower systems
- Military Equipment Road and Secondary Road Testing. -
- Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS), cost and
schedule.
- Road march requirements and geographical allowances Domestic
and International.
- Military cable and electromechanical system experience.
- ASME Y14.5 GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
experience.
- CAD design experience (CREO)
- Experience with PDM/Windchill or similar product data
management tool.
- Experience with manufacturing systems and processes.
- Reliability or failure analysis experience.
- Experience with external supplier collaboration (incl.
Export/Import considerations).
- Ability to work in a team environment and lead small teams to
success with technical execution, schedule, and budget.
- Solid understanding of configuration management practices.
- Experience developing program proposal.
- Proven ability to lead technical solutions to complex -user

this role.--' Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles
will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and
maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of
our products.The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD -
203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate
representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several
