Industrial Engineer About the Role We are seeking a versatile and
driven Manufacturing Industrial Engineer to serve as the bridge
between product design, production execution, and systems
optimization. This is an excellent opportunity for a "hands-on"
engineer who is equally comfortable in SolidWorks and on the
production floor. You will work to ensure that innovative designs
are successfully transitioned into high-quality, efficiently
manufactured products while learning to apply Industrial
Engineering principles to improve throughput and cost-efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities Product Design & Evaluation: Design,
evaluate, and modify equipment based on Sales specifications;
determine design approaches and parameters within time and cost
constraints. Industrial Engineering Support: Participate in time
and motion studies to help establish production standards and
identify bottlenecks. Learn to evaluate and implement sheet metal
fabrication processes, including maintaining NC programs for sheet
metal punches and lasers. Continuous Improvement: Assist with Lean
manufacturing initiatives to reduce waste and improve throughput.
Contribute to recommendations for changes to facility layouts,
workflows, and assembly sequences. CAD & Technical Documentation:
Create and maintain 3D CAD models and drawings; ensure all sheet
metal designs are optimized for manufacturing (DFM). Engineering
Records: Maintain accurate records, including Bills of Materials
(BOMs), Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), work instructions,
assemble-to-order records, and service instructions. Testing &
Analysis: Conduct experimental tests, evaluate results, and perform
Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) to ensure product reliability.
Production Support: Support other engineering staff in moving
projects from the design phase to full-scale production;
troubleshoot mechanical and electrical manufacturing issues on the
floor. Prototyping: Fabricate and assemble prototypes using hand
and power tools to validate design concepts and production
feasibility. Qualifications and Essential Functions Education:
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or
Industrial Engineering. (New graduates are encouraged to apply).
Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks,
Inventor, etc.) is required. Ability to learn NC machine
programming and machine tooling. IE Methodology: Interest in or
basic exposure to Industrial Engineering tools, such as time
studies, value stream mapping, or statistical process control
(SPC). Manufacturing Knowledge: Basic understanding of sheet metal
fabrication, thermodynamics, and general manufacturing processes.
Tools & Instrumentation: Ability to work with hand/power tools and
an interest in learning to use various test instrumentation.
Systems Experience: Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with or
ability to learn ERP business systems (like INFOR CSI ).
Professionalism: Strong communication skills and a desire to
collaborate in multi-functional project teams. Physical
Requirements: Able to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and perform
tasks in a manufacturing environment. Work Ethic: Self-motivated
with a strong work ethic and the ability to manage tasks with
growing independence. Preferred Experience/Skills Previous
internship or work experience in a manufacturing or sheet metal
environment. Experience with SolidWorks 3D modeling. Familiarity
with Lean manufacturing concepts or Six Sigma principles.
Familiarity with Infor CloudSuite Industrial (CSI). Compensation &
