Lets change the world. During this program, you will have the opportunity to work within the Facilities & Engineering Department at the Amgen Rhode Island (ARI) Operations Facility from May 2026 May 2027. Coaching, mentorship, and guidance will be provided to the co-op as they engage in the following: Gaining experience operating a large-scale production facility by shadowing technicians in various functions within the Facilities & Engineering department to operate, maintain, and sustain all major equipment on site Taking part in improvement projects related to the utilities systems at ARI through supporting day-to-day operations to ensure a safe, compliant, effective, efficient, and cost appropriate utility operations at ARI Applying basic engineering principles and practices in support of daily operation and maintenance activities for site utility systems Learning how to work in GMP environment and abide by GMPs, safety, and environmental regulations Working closely with multiple disciplines, including Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Engineering, Maintenance, Process Development, and Validation regarding utility operations & maintenance activities and strategies Collaborating with Facilities & Engineering peers within the Amgen network What We Expect of You We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The motivated individual we seek is an effective communicator, team member, and collaborator with these qualifications: Basic Qualifications: Amgen requires that all individuals applying for an undergrad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria: 18 years or older Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelors Degree program from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent Completion of one year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing Enrolled in a full-time Bachelors degree program following the potential internship or co-op assignment with an accredited college or university Must not be employed at the time the internship starts Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship or co-op Preferred Qualifications Pursuing a degree in Engineering (Facilities, Marine, or Energy Systems) Sophomore or Junior Standing Strong computer skills including knowledge of MS Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint) Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, project management, problem solving, analytical and quantitative skills Demonstrated personal initiative, self-motivation, flexibility and adaptability Proven leadership experience on campus (e.g., projects, clubs, organizations, sports) What You Can Expect of Us As we work to develop treatments that take care of others, we also work to care for your professional and personal growth and well-being.
