Job Description:

General DescriptionA year-round position that is responsible for the management and direction of the Hardscape Division. This position has a profit-making responsibility for operations commensurate with sales revenue of the division. The person in this position has sales generation responsibility for non-large contracts that are held by the estimator and provides direction and leadership to ensure effective operations, complete customer satisfaction and long-term sustainable growth.
Responsibilities

  • Work with other company management to establish overall objectives regarding production, quality, staff development, deadlines, and profit.
  • Make recommendations for equipment or other asset purchases based upon upcoming projects, operational needs, and goals.
  • Works to increase net worth, keep costs in-line and increase cash flow of the division. Constantly monitors volume of work and job mix for maximum efficiency and effect.
  • Implements and perpetuates employee compliance with and understanding of all company policies and procedures related to safety, operations, and human resources. Oversees enforcement of these.
  • Manages change order process and follows up with relevant parties. Prepares change orders and proposed change order documentation. Maintains change order log and timely, accurate billing.
  • Establishes and promotes contacts with appropriate associations, developers, and other prospective customers to obtain work for the division / company. Promotes positive relationships among all entities within the industry.
  • Stay knowledgeable regarding competition, area growth trends, new methods, and other industry resources. Implements best practices.
  • Understands grades, grading, products, and methods used in this line of work. Stays current on new products.
  • Ensures that the team knows expectations, is held accountable, congratulated, disciplined, and evaluated regularly. Develops team members in order that their value to the company increases and they can improve their financial situation. Foster cross training and a spirit of cooperation.
  • Physically works in the field as needed for teaching, demonstrating, and participating in projects.
  • Coordinates the work of the division with other divisions within the company.
  • Qualifies / Disqualifies warranty issues and represents the company professionally in these resolutions.
  • Responds to customer difficulties professionally and with the goal of customer satisfaction while taking the company's requirements into consideration.
  • Participates in the snow and ice management operation.
  • Other duties as assigned. Essential Job Duties and Functions:
    • Maintain regular and reliable attendance acceptable to the company including the ability to work overtime, into the evening and / or weekends as necessary.
    • Work week can be 60 hours per week.
    • Report to work at 5:45AM for each workday
    • Work outdoors on job sites as needed.
