Job Description

the Nuevo Momento Grant Initiatives, the Boston College Clough
School of Theology and Ministry has developed and will launch a new
Master's Degree in Ministerial Leadership (MAML), an 18-month,
36-credit degree that will welcome its first cohort (11 students)
in summer 2025. It is anticipated that over the life of the grant,
as many as 45 graduate-level students will enroll in this program.
The program consists of 8 executive leadership competency online or
in-person modules, three online or in-person graduate courses, a
summer and winter in-person residency, a capstone seminar, and a
capstone project. Throughout the entire 18-month program, each
student will have an executive mentor guiding their experience;
this mentorship model in which students are paired with mentors is
intended to ensure a personal and comprehensive experience that
will cater to each student's unique needs.
The Program Director is responsible for all aspects of
implementation of the already-designed MAML and will develop
support resources and curriculum as needed. The Program Director
will provide administrative structure for the program, including
support for in-person meetings and residencies, preparation of
materials, and other logistical details. The Program Director will
oversee the degree program, work in close collaboration with other
faculty and school administrators involved in it, teach
graduate-level courses for the MAML annually based on expertise,
and secure faculty to meet curricular needs within the program.
The Program Director is responsible for ongoing curriculum and
program development as well as implementation, recruiting,
retaining, and advising qualified students, and tracking,
assessing, and reporting on student progress and the program's
outcomes.

Grant and works closely with the Associate Dean for Academic
Affairs and the Fiscal and Events Specialist for Nuevo Momento.
This position is responsible for meeting program academic outcomes
and providing tracking and reporting of those outcomes, as well as
making improvements based on this data. The position is also
responsible for the recruitment of particular numbers of students
for the MAML, as outlined in the Nuevo Momento grant.
Essential Functions
*Teach MAML courses
Serve as instructor of record for modules and 4-credit on-campus
intensive seminars (20 SCH between academic year and Summer).

*Curriculum Development and Management
Manage the MAML curriculum and program of study in accordance with
appropriate discipline standards and program outcomes, and in
collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders.
Develop curriculum and requirements within it in collaboration with
the Director of Nuevo Momento, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs,
CDIL, and other colleagues.
Lead the continuous improvement assessment cycle to include
appropriate review and revision of the curriculum.
Collaborate with the Director of the Nuevo Momento grant and the
Associate Dean for Academic Affairs on program policies (e.g.,
standards and requirements for program admission, standards for
student advising, etc.).
Collaborate with the Director of the Nuevo Momento grant, the
Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and key faculty and staff to
plan graduate course scheduling, instructional coverage,
coordination with CDIL, and other core processes.

*Program Management and Operations
In collaboration with the Director of Nuevo Momento and the Fiscal
and Events Specialist for Nuevo Momento, plan and execute in-person
intensive seminars (Winter and Summer) for MAML cohort members.
Liaise with Nuevo Momento organizations to further build
professional relationships to enhance the program and assist in
recruitment and retention for MAML degree program.

*Student Support
Serve as academic advisor to all students in the program.
Coordinate mentor assignments for MAML students.

*Faculty Management
In collaboration with the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs,
determines which CSTM course offerings align with MAML curriculum
needs each semester.
Identify, recruit, and nominate adjunct faculty members for other
MAML courses.
Schedule faculty teaching assignments and professional development
training with CDIL.
Monitor faculty performance, ensuring the highest quality
instruction is provided.

*Other Duties
Participate as a member of the CSTM administrative team.
Represent CSTM and the program at local and national conferences
and/or professional events, as appropriate.

Some evening or weekend work may be required. Occasional travel may
be required for planning purposes and for academic experiences
related to the program.
This is a 12-month grant-funded, term-appointed position through
December 2028.
This is an on-campus position located in Chestnut Hill, MA
(Boston).

Education/Training and Certification, Licensure, Registration
Requirements
Candidates should have a PhD in Practical Theology, Theology and
Education, or similar theological/ministerial academic training
with demonstrated experience and expertise in ministerial
leadership with Hispanic Catholics in the United States.
Experience
* Experience in higher education is strongly preferred,
particularly teaching graduate students preparing for ministry
* Must be fully bilingual, English and Spanish, and knowledgeable
about ecclesial and ministerial realities associated with U.S.
born/U.S. reared Latinos
* Possess a commitment to theological education for lay and
ordained ministry; familiarity with Roman Catholic polity and
pastoral life is essential
* Ability to assume administrative leadership designing curriculum
and directing the MA in Ministerial Leadership degree program and
to teach courses each year in theology, ministry, leadership, or
religious education from a Latino Catholic perspective
