Job Title: PACU RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Post Anesthesia Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour AM-PM Hours per Shift: 11.5 hours, 07:00-19:00 Experience: Preferred previous ICU and/or high acuity PACU experience. License: Current Registered Nurse license required. Certifications: ACLS certification preferred. Must-Have: Familiar with art lines, central lines, vasoactive and sedative drips, chest tubes, and tracheostomy care. Description: PACU RN needed for immediate start. We care for patients who have had various types of surgeries. Common surgeries include vascular procedures, general surgeries, thoracic surgeries, gynecologic surgeries, neuro surgeries, orthopedic surgeries, kidney transplants, and Whipple procedures. Ventricular drains are managed in the PACU. Patients requiring ICP monitoring are transferred directly to ICU. High acuity and high volume environment. Controlled chaos is typical in the evenings. Overnight boarders regularly include ICU craniotomy patients, step-down patients, or medical-surgical patients.
