Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 03/02/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, rotating - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an adult Med/Surg unit with recent trauma experience and strong post-surgical skills. Responsibilities - Work in a 36-bed adult surgical unit in a hospital setting - Patient population includes orthopedic, trauma, plastics, and general surgery cases - Main goals focus on mobilizing and rehabilitating postoperative patients - Schedule involves day and night rotation (D/N), 36 hours per week - Unit handles complex wound care, chest tubes, central lines, trachs/laryngectomies, and telemetry - Responsibilities include care of post-surgical patients, complex wound management, and administering medication drips - Team works in a fast-paced environment with a focus on early mobilization - Compliance with all licensure and certification requirements is mandatory for continued assignment - First time travelers will be considered if all experience requirements are met Requirements - Active NH or compact RN license required and must remain active through assignment - Current BLS certification required - Recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma experience within the last 2 years - Proficiency with chest tubes, lines/tubes/drains, drips (Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, amiodarone), trachs/laryngectomies, telemetry, complex wound care, and central line management - No local candidates; must live at least 75 miles from the facility Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-666942.
