Job Description:

Medical Director Department of Hospital Medicine - Beverly, MALead and shape the Department of Hospital Medicine as Medical Director. This role combines clinical leadership with strategic oversight to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care. You ll foster a collaborative, supportive environment among providers, hospital staff, and leadership.Position Details - FTE: 0.5 Clinical, 0.5 Administrative - Reports to: Chair of Hospital Medicine and Beverly Hospital CMO - Oversee daily hospitalist workflow and census management - Monitor shift coverage and assignments using Amion - Address clinical concerns, patient distribution, and admission-related issues - Provide support to the Administrative Coordinator during provider callouts - Lead communication for discharges, transfers, and telemetry downgrades - Handle real-time concerns from nursing and ancillary staff - Assist with Code Help coordination - Serve as Administrator-On-Call for the Department of Hospital Medicine - Participate in hospitalist recruitment and interview process - Offer feedback on candidates and support onboarding (FPPE process) - Provide mentorship and professional development for APPs - Respond to STARS (incident) reports - Address clinical performance and professionalism concerns - Support stroke program quality initiatives - Lead onboarding efforts for new providers Active member of key hospital and departmental committees: - Hospital Medicine Weekly (Wednesdays at 1:00 PM) - ED/Hospital Medicine Monthly (1st Thursday) - Recruitment (Tuesdays at 2:30 PM) - Peer Review (Bi-monthly Thursdays at 7:00 AM) - Stroke Committee (Bi-monthly Tuesdays at 7:00 AM) - ED-HM-CC (Quarterly Thursdays at 1:30 PM) - Hospital Medicine Advisory (Monthly Thursdays at 3:00 PM) - Beverly Operations (Weekly Fridays at 12:00 PM) - Patient Experience Check-in (Monthly) - EM-HM Joint Meeting (Monthly Tuesdays at 8:00 AM, if applicable) - Additional hospital-wide initiatives as needed
