Specialist III - (250003WU)DescriptionThe Lemuel Shattuck Hospital
(LSH), operated by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health
(DPH), is seeking three experienced Environmental Service
Specialist III shift leaders to join our Environmental Services
team (EVS). The EVS III Team Leader supervises routine and
non-routine housekeeping tasks and linen distribution within the
hospital. The incumbents will work under the supervision of the
Environmental Service Specialist IV and the EVS Supervisor to
complete projects and oversee evening and night staff.Schedule:
- Day Shift: 7AM-3:30PM, Days off are Friday and Saturday
- Evening Shift: 2:30PM-11:00PM, Days off are Friday and
Saturday
- Night Shift: 11PM-7AM, Days off are Sunday and MondayDuties and
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and train housekeeping staff on policies, procedures,
and equipment care.
- Oversee daily, routine, and special cleaning assignments;
ensure adherence to safety regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections to maintain high cleanliness
standards; document and address issues.
- Oversee supply inventory, requisitions, and distribution of
keys and equipment.
- Coordinate with Facilities Management for repairs and ensure
timely resolutions.
- Process payroll, handle disciplinary actions, and complete
incident reports promptly.
- Perform general housekeeping duties as needed.Required
Qualifications:
- Expertise in institutional cleaning methods, equipment, and
safety protocols.
- Strong supervisory skills: task assignment, training,
motivation, and performance management.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for a
collaborative environment.
- Physical ability to handle prolonged standing and heavy
lifting.Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, and supervisory
techniques.About Lemuel Shattuck Hospital:Lemuel Shattuck Hospital,
a fully Joint Commission-accredited teaching facility, provides
acute, subacute, and ambulatory care to patients referred by public
agencies and private providers. It serves economically and socially

95 psychiatric beds and 29 correctional health beds) and a

- At least two years of full-time (or equivalent part-time)
experience in custodial or institutional housekeeping, with at
least one year in a supervisory role.Special Requirements:
