Job Description A strong and growing high-tech. company serving the telecommunications and internet markets seeks a talented Staff Embedded Software Engineer, Linux Platform. Must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering. Must have 5 years experience in embedded software development, or a Master's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering and 2 years of embedded software development experience. Needs experience with design and development on multi-threaded and multi-processor systems. Needs experience on cross-platform development and build tools. Requires good debugging skills using standard and advanced hardware and software debuggers (GDB, Lauterbach Oscilloscopes and JTAG). Requires experience with high-speed internet protocols (like USXGMII 1/2.5/5/10G protocol, 25 Gigabit. Requires experience developing kernel and user space tracing and device drivers. Must have worked on SMP scalability issues in kernel and user mode drivers. Needs experience on BSP's, boot loaders, writing peripheral drivers and memory management. New platform porting and bring up expertise is a MUST. Needs experience on working with bus protocols (I2C, SPI, MDIO, JESD etc.). Experience with Xilinx build tools a strong plus. The successful candidate will be a member of the DAS and Small Cell product's Software Engineering team. He/she will use expertise to bring up new hardware and/or Add features on to existing hardware. He/she will participate in architecture decisions while being involved in product and design processes. There is a strong emphasis on bringing new technology through the design phase to implementation, and he/she should have the ability to mentor junior engineers. The selected candidate will report to the Director of Engineering. Salary range is $93,000.-$118,000. with a negotiable sign-on bonus, and an annual performance based bonus targeted at 12%.
