PHP ClinicianAdolescent Partial Hospitalization Program -Lowell,
MABournewood Health Systems is seeking a Clinician for an
AdolescentPartial HospitalProgram. The incumbents prime
responsibilities will be:To provide direct clinical service to
assigned Bournewood Health Systems Partial Hospital
patients.Inclusive of individual and family treatment
interventions.Case management, disposition planning, care
consultation and utilization review.Initial assessments for each
patient and treatment planning.Meets with other disciplines
regarding patients' treatment plan.Consults on an as needed basis
with other team members around issues of his/her expertise,
including case management and disposition planning.Leads
psychotherapy and/or psycho-educational groups for Partial Hospital

have strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and the
ability to multitask. Partial Hospital or Inpatient experience with
adolescents is strongly preferred. Social worker requirements
include the completion of a master's degree in social work from an
accredited school of Social Work or master's in counseling and
License eligible.Location: Lowell, MA#INDBHEssential
Functions:Leads daily group therapy sessions as indicated by
Supervisor.Assumes role of social worker for assigned
patients.Meets with patients and guardians to complete the written
initial assessment within 24 hours of patient admission, and
completes treatment plan within 48 hours.Provides and maintains
contact/consultation, (as patients guardian permits) with
collateral supports including but not limited to patients
outpatient therapist, prescriber, PCP, school, DCF/DMH case
worker.Involves and updates families on treatment planning,
treatment progress, aftercare planning and educates family on
available resources.Coordinates/organizes meeting of outpatient
providers or school personnel as necessary.Communicates findings
and progress of group, individual, and family therapy and discharge
recommendations/planning to treatment team.Consults on an as needed
basis with other team members around issues of his/her
expertise.Maintains daily progress notes in charts and completes
group notes for all groups performed.Ensures appropriate case
management and aftercare appointments with providers and informs
patient and family of all appointments.Conducts utilization review
on cases assigned by the Supervisor.Documents all clinical and
collateral contacts and case management activities in a timely and
professional manner.Complies with all statues and regulations
relevant to the maintenance of clinical standards in the
Commonwealth, e.g. mandated reporting, duty to warn,
confidentiality, human rights.Complies with the policies and
procedures of Bournewood Health Systems.Adheres to the Social Work
Code of Ethics.Performs other related duties as requested by the
Supervisor.Essential Competencies:Knowledge of major mental
illness, i.e. schizophrenia and the impact of family.Knowledge of
developmental stages and clinical implications regarding
abandonment.Knowledge and understanding of biological and
sociocultural changes influencing adolescents, adults, and
geriatric populations.Knowledge of substance use disorders and
associated treatments.Knowledge of family systems
dynamics.Knowledge of group therapy and group dynamics.Ability to
conduct individual assessments and provide effective clinical
documentation.Is competent in delivering patient care that is
trauma informed and patient centered. As indicated by:Provides care
that is kind, collaborative and compassionate.Able to defuse power
struggles and doesnt need to win.Appropriate assessment of clients
for a history of traumaRecognize/assess a range of trauma-related
behaviorsImplement trauma-sensitive interventions with people
servedPhysical Criteria:Must be able to climb stairs and walk
between buildings.Must be able to use a telephone and computer.Must
be to sit for up to 8 hours.Must be able to provide crisis
