Full Time/ Rotating Shifts/ 40 hours a week Summary This is a great opportunity to work in food services, close to home, in a community hospital.#The Lead Cafeteria Aide - may work in any type of retail food location /kiosk on the premises. This individual, under the leadership of the retail manager, will coordinate the activities of workers and/or service employees engaged in food operations in retail area(s) The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but Hospital /Department may identify other responsibilities of the position as needed. # #Responsibilities Understands and follows all Hospital and Department policies and procedures. #Assists in ensuring a safe working environment throughout the facility for all employees.# Assists in monitoring employee productivity and provides suggestions for increased service or productivity. #Responsible for the supervision of day-to-day activities of subordinates and assigns responsibility for specific work or functional activities as directed by on-site management.# Responsible for orientation and training of employees. #Performs day-to-day assignments in addition to supervision duties.# Works with customers to ensure satisfaction in such areas as quality, service and problem resolution. Interacts with visitors, guests, patients and co-employees involved directly or indirectly with retail food operations. #Takes an interest and initiative in the development of the foodservice team.# Attends all allergy and food borne illness in-service training. #Complies with all Hospital and Department HACCP policies and procedures.# Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner. #Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.# Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated. #Ensures adequate staffing on a day to day basis, adjusts accordingly.# Maintains key control of operations and responsible for activities to ensure opening, closing and daily procedures are completed. #Serves as working lead coordinating activities of workers or service employees engaged in Retail food operations or kiosks.# Observes and supervises the work performance of the cafeteria aides to ensure adherence to established standards. #Ensures registers are properly programed and operational.# Accurately inventories and records items for cafeteria par stocks.# Assigns cafeteria aides to put up stock as needed. Notifies cooks of low quantities of food before shortage occurs. #Checks for proper operation of beverage machines, steam table, refrigerators, grill and warmer ovens and takes corrective actions as necessary.# Checks temperatures of food (hot and cold) at the beginning, middle and end of service. #Demonstrates proper portion control and observes that of cafeteria aides.# May assist in employee scheduling and staffing. #May maintain temperature, refrigeration, waste and sanitation Logs as assigned.# May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. #Cooperatively adapts to changes, especially crisis situations, such as shorthanded staff, mechanical failures and disasters.# Requirements:# High school diploma or equivalent Prior food service experience Strong customer service# Supervisory experience a plus
