Job Description:

The Clinic Psychiatrist will provide leadership to a multidisciplinary Treatment Team for treatment planning for adolescents and adults with serve mental illness. The Clinic Psychiatrist will be responsible for providing intake for all patients admitted to Vinfen Clinics for treatment and will also examine, diagnose, and prescribe medications as needed.

The Clinic Psychiatrist will also:

  • Provide leadership to Multidisciplinary Treatment Team for treatment planning.
  • Serve as the designated prescribing physician for patients served by the Treatment Team and referred to Prescribe medications, teach clients about side effects and monitor response to prescribed medications. Document patient progress and services rendered/treatment provided.
  • Refer patients for individual therapy, as May provide specific psychotherapy intervention, as needed.
  • For patients also seeing a therapist, evaluate effectiveness of treatment, document results of mental status exam and/or psychiatric evaluation and confer with staff, as
  • Assume on-call responsibilities, as appropriate and agreed upon, based on the needs of the treatment
  • Provide training to program staff and trainees as assigned by the Vinfen's Medical
  • Participate in research in compliance with Vinfen's policies and procedures and as approved by Vinfen's CEO and Medical
  • Participate in Utilization Review as part of the Multi-disciplinary Team, as
  • Facilitate communication with other health care providers and institutions, as needed (including PCPs, specialists, inpatient units, crisis stabilization units, ).
  • Prepare documentation, as needed for patients who are transferring, or being referred, to other levels of care (inside or outside Vinfen) or who are undergoing forensic or problematic sexual behavior
  • Communicate with family members, educational, and other agencies involved in the treatment of the individual served, as needed.
  • Assess competency of patients, as needed, and complete applications for guardianship, as appropriate
  • Maintain productivity expectations, as set by supervisors
  • Perform other related duties, as required
