Job Description Machine Operator Newburyport MA Description of role: The Manufacturing Operator in the Kiln (Furnace) Operations has numerous responsibilities as listed below. This position interacts closely with the Production Manager and the Engineering Manager in a team environment. The position does require some heavy lifting, up to 50 pounds. The company is willing to provide training to those individuals with mechanical aptitude and experience in an industrial / manufacturing environment. Tasks: Work in a warm environment.Read and follow written directions in English on process docs, work instructions, and test plans.Read and understand simple drawings.Read and understand equipment operation manuals and work on equipment with good mechanical aptitude.Take verbal and written direction and execute instructions correctly, providing feedback on safety, equipment, or process flow issues.Work independently, as well as in a team environment.Interact directly with Management, Engineering and fellow employees in a positive and constructive manner that enhances the EPI Team focus.Manage scheduling details across multiple furnace operations.Work closely with Engineering on equipment install, repair and preventative maintenance.Operation of manual Pusher Kiln, and periodic cold wall furnaces Skills and Requirements: Understand EPI processing and the Quality Management SystemFluent with speaking / reading English documents. Bilingual Spanish / English is preferred.Understand how to use simple mechanical tools and have mechanical aptitude.Follow process documents precisely and use Personal Protective Equipment as required.Allow scheduling flexibility within the organization.Prior work experience in industrial processes / manufacturing preferredMust have ability to have 20/20 correctable vision and pass color vision test.
