General Summary of Position:
The Department of World Languages and Cultures at the University of
Massachusetts Lowell seeks a part-time Adjunct Instructor to teach
Khmer language and culture. The successful candidate will be
expected to begin work on September 1, 2022.
Under the guidance of the Chair of the department, the ideal
candidate will enhance the student's learning experience by
integrating a variety of methods and strategies into the teaching
process and maintaining a student learning-centered environment.
The University of Massachusetts Lowell is committed to increasing

candidates who can contribute to that goal. Instructors will be
expected to attend a scheduled orientation in August.
Lowell, MA, is home to the second-largest Cambodian American
population in the United States. The University of Massachusetts
Lowell is an Asian American Native American Pacific Islander
Serving Institution (AANAPISI), a minority-serving higher education
institution, and is in the process of establishing an Asian
American Center for Engagement and Excellence (AACEE) focused on
student success. The successful candidate for this position would
be welcome to become involved in campus and community
activities.

This is a part-time, non-benefited, Union of Adjunct Faculty, Local
1596, UAW position.
