PRIMARY JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES The Director of Carrier Sales will be responsible for the development of a comprehensive carriers sales team for Transplace Capacity Services. The role will be responsible for building out the carrier sales model, metrics, measurements and competencies for the managers and carrier sales representatives. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Provide leadership for a $400 Million plus freight brokerage operation and manage departmental performance using a range of objective operational and financial measures.
• Strategic Planning and execution to enhance carrier relationships, utilization, buy to market, profitability, productivity, service and efficiency.
• Own the efficiencies and accuracy of the transportation management system(s) to drive effective use of the systems and provide innovation for further improvement in carrier procurement and engagement
• Oversee the development and management of a network of outside carriers to move freight in the most efficient and profitable manner possible
• Develop, implement and drive a continuous improvement strategy within the business to result in ongoing incremental gains in quality and efficiency.
• Build and train a sales staff to support carrier development.
• Engage with internal Transplace cross-functional leaders to develop strategic capacity solutions
• Oversee and develop truckload planning processes to optimize line haul schedules.
• Manage the building of lanes to improve on-time service and reduce costs.
• Communicate with executive and management teams via written and oral presentations.
• Interface with sales personnel and account executives to cultivate and develop new business.
• Manage delivery performance and prepare margin/cost analysis and buy to market on truckload spend.
• Administer a carrier scorecard process to increase carrier performance.

    • Analytical - Able to digest various sources of data and derive actional implementation of opportunities
    • Service Orientation (Commits to and enjoys providing exceptional service to internal and external customers) EXPERIENCE
      • Qualified candidates will have 7-10 years work experience in the field of truckload freight brokerage or sales either with carriers (including private fleet operations), corporate logistics management, third-party logistics, or any combination thereof. Candidate will have proven track record of building carrier sales teams and beating market rates TRAVEL
        • This job may require travel approximately 25% of the year. EDUCATION
          • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Transportation or Supply Chain Management is required.
